NETWORK TELESCOPE

// Internet-wide security measurement & metrics

Mission

Network Telescope conducts continuous, internet-wide measurements of the public network surface and aggregates the results into research datasets that track the open internet over time.

Opt Out

Network operators may request exclusion of address space under their control by emailing the affected CIDR range(s) to the address below from a contact attributable to that network. Requests are honored promptly and applied to all subsequent scans. Operators preferring to enforce exclusion locally may filter the User-Agent string identified below at their network edge to drop our probes prior to delivery.

Compliance

Our probe attribution conforms to RFC 9511, the IETF specification for identification of internet measurement probes. Every scanner in our fleet serves the disclosure file /.well-known/probing.txt on port 80 from its own source IP, and the canonical copy is hosted at this domain over HTTPS. Exclusion requests from network operators are honored without exception or delay.
